We are on a 10 day NZ road trip (Dec 23-Jan 2) starting from Queenstown. This hotel is in great location- walkable distance to the town center, gondola rides, paragliding etc and the 3km lake front walking/biking pathway. Excellent breakfast buffet options with courteous staff across the hotel- valet, front desk, house keeping, and restaurant. They have an activities desk where one can book tours to local and farther attractions such as Milford Sound & Glow Worm caves. Though we took a rental car as soon as we landed in Queenstown, we could have as well spent that money (plus $50/day in Parking) wisely using local guided tour operators and rented a car on our way out of Queenstown.

The location is perfect. Easy access to everything in town by foot. Great views of the lake. We had a one bed apartment for four nights and the size was spot on. As we had been hiking and were tired it was great to be able to sit with our feet up and have some room to move around. Also great to be able to open a window rather than rely on aircon all the time. We had been at the hotel for 2 night before the hike and had left the bulk of our luggage at the hotel for safe keeping. 4 night later when we returned they had our bags up in our new room ready for us. Could not thank them enough for having everything handled so seamlessly. Can not recommend more highly.

Our room we were given had some issues we were not happy with and the staff and management were fabulous. We were moved to a wonderful room the next morning... Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Super comfortable beds. Our little one turned 3 and the lovely reception staff gave her a gift. The young children staying were all given a NZ kiwi or lamb soft toy on arrival. The location was just the best .. directly opening onto the lakefront and our views were amazing. Restaurant food superb. All the staff we met were so good .. very approachable and friendly and going above and beyond to help. Some of the best staff of any hotel we have stayed at in NZ.

I love Novotel in Queenstown. I always spend time here because it's close to everything yet removed from the buzz. The beds out of this world, massive too. I always book a lakefront room. Walking distance to my favourite restaurant Blue Kanu, ice-cream (Patagonia), the lovely Romer Gallery of breathtaking landscape photography by Stefan Romer... a must stay for exploring the area or go on a scenic flight and cruise to Milford Sound. I regret not swimming in the lake despite being literally in front of our room. Voodoo café also walking distance.

The location of the Novotel is simply unbeatable. Nestled right on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, the views are nothing short of breathtaking. Every morning, I woke up to stunning vistas of the mountains and the tranquil lake, which set the perfect tone for the day. Its proximity to the city center made it easy to explore local shops, restaurants, and attractions without needing a car.
